Carey Sounds Official Bad Weather Policy

A word about weather and outdoor events - Outdoor shows can be tricky and bad weather is always concern. Carey Sound loves what we do and It is our intent to provide the services you have contracted for if at al possible but you need to be aware of our policies regarding inclement weather on show day.

The safety of our clients, guests and crew is paramount in all decisions and the following are some hard and fast rules. We come prepared to handle moderate weather conditions however… 

We will not operate under the following conditions:

  • High winds - if winds are high enough to threaten the stability of gear, such as video screens, speaker stacks and stage roofs and tents, even if there is no rain associated with the event

  • Wet stage surface - if the surface of any stage or ground where we have gear deployed gets wet and can’t be dried

  • Lightning  - any where lighting is striking either ground to cloud or cloud to cloud within within 15 miles of the event site even if there is no rain associated with the event

  • Weather Alerts - any time the event site is in an area covered by a severe  weather alert issued by the National Weather Service or local authorities 

In adition:

  • We will not set up gear in any of the above conditions

  • If we have not set up the gear yet we will be happy to do so in a safe indoor alternative location or try to wait out the weather event however we will not move the gear once it has been set up

  • If the client does not call the event due to the adverse conditions listed above our crew chief has the authority to makes the final decision

  • Carey Sound will make the best attempt to hunker down and wait out the weather, but if it passes and the site can not be returned to a safe condition Carey Sounds crew chief will make the call to end our services.

  • The clients responsibility to pay Carey Sound the full amount of the contract is not diminished by any of the above adverse conditions or by any cancelations of service due to these circumstances. We require two (2) weeks advanced notice to cancel an event.

  • The Client assumes full liability for any financial damages for failure to follow Carey Sounds Bad Weather Policy
